BitoPro, a Taiwan-based cryptocurrency exchange, has released a report on a recent cyber attack, attributing it to North Korean Lazarus Group. The hackers implanted a Trojan horse into computers through social engineering, hijacked AWS Session Token to bypass authentication, and implanted malicious scripts into hot wallet hosts. BitoPro suffered a hack on May 8, resulting in a loss of approximately $11.5 million. The stolen funds were then laundered through Tornado Cash or converted to Bitcoin via THORChain before being deposited into Wasabi.
