According to blockchain investigator ZachXBT, Pepe creator Matt Furie and his platform ChainSaw's associated projects Replicandy, Peplicator, were attacked in mid-June, suspected to be carried out by mistakenly hired North Korean IT personnel. The attackers seized contract permissions to mint and sell NFTs, causing the floor price to drop to zero, with an initial estimated total loss exceeding $1 million, including approximately $310,000 stolen from ChainSaw-related projects. The stolen funds were traced to exchanges such as MEXC.
