Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A.N, BRK.B.N) announced on June 27th that Buffett converted 8,239 A shares into 12,358,500 B shares, in order to donate 12,358,321 shares of Berkshire Hathaway B shares to five foundations: 9,433,839 shares to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; 943,384 shares to the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation; and 660,366 shares each to the Sherwood Foundation, Howard G. Buffett Foundation, and NoVo Foundation. The donation will be completed by June 30th. Buffett currently holds 198,117 A shares and 1,144 B shares of Berkshire Hathaway.
