In a recent report by Web3 security company CertiK, it was revealed that the total losses from Web3 security incidents in the first half of 2025 amounted to nearly $2.5 billion, with a net loss of $2.29 billion, surpassing the total losses from the previous year. Phishing attacks emerged as the biggest threat, with losses of around $400 million in the second quarter, accounting for half of the total losses in this quarter (approximately $800 million), significantly higher than the same period last year. Despite a decrease in private key leaks and code vulnerability attacks remaining at historical averages, vigilance is still required for major cases like Cetus Protocol.
