South Korean Finance Minister, Hong Nam-Ki, has confirmed that a tax applies to and will be imposed on cryptocurrencies, at a parliamentary finance committee meeting on June 17, according to Cointelegraph. More details are to be released next month.

The South Korean government once considered a 20% tax on cryptocurrency income earlier this year in January. Later, the Koran Tax Policy Association raised a two-stage taxation structure, which consists of low-level trading tax and a cryptocurrency income tax.
