The Austrian government provided a $67,600 grant to a project called QualiSig which utlizes blockchain across various prototype products aimed at combatting COVID-19, as reported by Coindesk.

The QualiSig prototypes use the Ardor blockchain built by Swiss firm Jelurida and its Ignis tokens. One of its projects helps individuals to verify door-to-door COVID-19 testers by having them scan a QR code on the testers' phones which reveals a signature from public authorities. The tester credentials are attached to an Ignis token.

Other QualiSig blockchain projects include fake news screening and attaching COVID-19 test results to a person's digital citizenship.
