The Balancer DeFi protocol has been hacked twice within the past 24 hours, as reported by Cointelegraph.
In the first attack, $500,000 worth of Compound tokens were stolen. In the second, $2,300 worth was lost. The hacker was able to trick Balancer's system into thinking they were owed tokens held by the exchange, an engineer at Balancer reported in a tweet.
The company announced that it would reimburse all users who loss funds in the attacks and will pay a researcher who reported on the bug which made this type of attack possible months ago.
