Bitcoin's mempool grew during the halving in May, causing transaction fees to increase. By June, miners had worked through most of the built-up pool and transaction fees began to decline. Miner revenue dropped from $366 million in May to $281 million in June.

Block rewards for miners will remain constant until 2024, until then miners can only make more money when network fees or Bitcoin's price goes up.
