Chainlink's LINK token's price has seen phenomenal performance over last week after breaking past resistance at $5.00. 

LINK's price ended up setting a new all-time high at $8.40 and helped move the coin up to 11th place in the cryptocurrency rankings by CoinMarketCap. At the time of writing LINK is trading hands at $7.28 and is up 6.9%.

The coin's recent success comes as Bitcoin has been caught in weeks-long sideways trading. This has many wondering if this is an opportunity for altcoins to gain popularity.
