A link promoting a fraudulent partnership and giveaway has been posted to the Twitter accounts of major crypto exchanges and influencers.

The link was posted to the Twitter accounts of Binance, Gemini, KuCoin, Coinbase, Coindesk, Bitcoin, Bitfinex, Ripple and Cash App. It advertised a partnership and giveaway, which are often ploys to urge users to follow links to fraudulent pages. The same announcement was also published on the account of CEO of BitTorrent Justin Sun and Managing Director of Litecoin Foundation Charlie Lee.

The crypto scam then expanded to prominent figures including Elon Musk and Bill Gates. The tweet published to Musk's account asked for Bitcoin and claimed that the tech mogul would double all payments sent to his address.

Twitter is looking into the widespread hack.
