The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) announced that they will be accepting donations via cryptocurrency, According to a press release on their site.

UNICEF states that they will be setting up a cryptocurrency fund that allows them to “receive, hold, and disburse donations of cryptocurrencies,” the first of which will be coming from the Ethereum Foundation and is set to benefit three grantees of a fund set to connect schools across the world to the internet.

According to the executive director of the Ethereum Foundation Aya Miyaguchi the donation was of 100 ETH which at the time of the writing was around $18,000.
