Russia’s central bank does not currently find a reason to launch a national cryptocurrency, according to the head of the bank.

The  Bank of Russia had been investigating the possibility of a central bank digital currency (CBDC) and whether it was necessary to launch a new technology.  However according to chairwoman Elvira Nabiullina in an interview with Tass “cryptocurrency is not obvious for us.”
