Institutional Crypto Trading Platform Bakkt Is Considering Acquiring A New York BitLicense

Summary: According to Bloomberg, institutional crypto trading platform Bakkt may seek a New York BitLicense. Bakkt noticed resistance from the United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to approve its bitcoin futures due to its intentions to custody user's assets. To ease the concerns, Bakkt plans to acquire a license from New York financial regulators.
