The U.K. government issued proposals on Monday calling for official oversights into companies’ cryptocurrency advertisement to protect investors from “misleading and inadequate promotions”, according to HM treasury.

As the proposal stated, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) will be responsible for supervising digital asset promotions. Before being authorized to promote crypto products, firms need to gain consent from FCA. The consultation phase for the proposals will last until October 25.
