Danny Ryan, the coordinator for Ethereum 2.0, announced that the Ethereum 2.0 public testnet will roll out on August 4th at 1 or 2 p.m. London time.

Addressed in a public statement in the testnet discussion board, Ryan’s statement noted “Launchpad”—the educational deposit interface for hobbyists—will be showcased along with the public testnet. The deposit contract and config will be launched publicly in the next couple of days.

The upcoming public testnet is meant to run for three months until November 4th, foreshadowing a great possibility that the Ethereum 2.0 will be released on November 5th.

If the Proof of Stake (PoS) is able to successfully merge with its Power of Work (PoW) chain, Ethereum’s scalability problems will be largely resolved.
