A US Senate hearing on the issue of creating its own cryptocurrency will be held on Thursday, as reported by Forbes.
Named “US-China: Winning the Economic Competition”, the hearing includes a panel on digital dollars in line with China’s digital Yuan competing for the US dollar’s status. US’s plan for rolling out state-issued stablecoin is currently falling behind China’s, who is already testing the digital yuan on governmental officials and ride-sharing application DiDi.
Senator Tom Cotton will preside over the hearing, while “Crypto Dad” J. Christopher Giancarlo will attend as well.
