In an interview with the podcast, Noded Bitcoin, United States Rep. Warren Davidson stated that it would be better for Facebook to add bitcoin (BTC) to its wallet instead of going through with Libra.
The congressman argued that these recent hearings brought forth all the problems that already existed on the platform. Davidson said that most of the hearing hasn't even been about Libra they have keyed in more on the platform's existing operation.
Davidson also stated that, “Facebook already filters content — some people say with bias, some people say it’s great, they’re protecting my safe space [...] So do we want filtered speech or free speech? Do we want filtered transactions or freedom?”
Host of the podcast Pierre Rochard instead felt that these hearing were an ideal vehicle to educate the many observers on Bitcoin.
