India was put among countries with the highest malware encounters, drive-by downloads attacks, and cryptocurrency mining encounter rates in 2019, as the Microsoft Security Endpoint Threat Report 2019 suggests.

Specifically, the report, which is unveiled on July 29, suggests that India experiences the second-largest number of cryptocurrency mining attacks in the Asia Pacific region. In such attacks, hackers implant cryptocurrency mining malware into victims’ computers and utilize their computing power without victims knowing.
