The Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) issued a warning on Wednesday, July 29 urging citizens to be aware of fraudulent celebrity-endorsed Bitcoin scams.

The announcement mentioned scams named Bitcoin Evolution, Bitcoin Revolution and Bitcoin Trader. These scams often pose as crypto trading robots to steal assets and advertise on legitimate sites like LinkedIn, Twitter or Facebook. Celebrities so far roped into the schemes have been Kochie, Celeste Barber and Waleed Aly, among others.

The announcement asks anyone who thinks they may have been scammed to report the incident to ASIC.
