Bakkt, the bitcoin futures exchange and digital assets platform, announced on Thursday that they will be launching their first regulated options contract for bitcoin (BTC) futures on Dec. 9.

The Bakkt Bitcoin Options Contract will offer capital efficiency, cash or physical settlement, European style option, low fees, as well as instant messaging, block trades and option analytics.

According to CEO Kelly Loeffler, the product will be based on customer feedback and is designed to hedge or gain bitcoin exposure.
