One of the thinkers from Goldman Sachs behind the controversial claim that Bitcoin is not an asset class, Chief Investment Officer Sharmin Mossavar-Rahmani, went after gold's value as well in an interview on CNBC on Thursday, July 30.

Mossavar-Rahmani argues that investing in gold is not worth doing unless you believe that the dollar is on its way out as the global reserve currency.

She added that gold is not a sound deflation hedge, doesn't generate income and is overpriced. These arguments are similar to the ones levied against Bitcoin.
