Tron (TRX) blockchain now accounts for almost 12% of all Tether (USDT) tokens issued, due to a chain swap, according to Tronscan.

The TRC20-based USDT has reached a total of over 490 million tokens since its launch in mid-April 2019. This makes up 12% of the 4.1 billion Tether tokens currently in circulation. The reason for the new milestone comes from the 100 million newly added TRC20-based USDT tokens, according to the Tron Foundation.

The newly added coins according to Bitfinex CTO Paolo Ardoino, is the outcome of a chain swap from Ethereum’s ERC-20 tokens to Tron.
