Big Tech companies such as Facebook, Amazon, Microsoft and Apple are on pace to reach record high lobbying expenditures, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Facebook has spent $12.3 million on lobbying, a 25% increase from this time last year. Amazon the top spender at $12.4 Million, saw a 16% jump in spending this year. These aren’t the only companies that have seen significant jumps as both Apple (8%) and Microsoft (9%) have ramped up their lobbying. This spending appears to be a result of the increased scrutiny that tech companies have received from the U.S. government.
