The executive of a Chinese think tank believes that China’s central bank will be the first to successfully launch a virtual currency, according to Pandaily.

Huang Qifan, vice chairman of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE), believes that China’s central bank will win the race to be the first central bank digital currency (CBDC). China’s central bank currently doesn’t have a release date for their coin, despite reports earlier in the year that it would be ready for launch in August.
