Before Japan officially declared a state of emergency to slow the spread of the pandemic, the overall activity of encrypted exchanges decreased as statutory deposits surged, according to Cointelegraph.

The number of active password accounts registered in Japan fell to 2,0448,806 in March from 2,048,501 in February, according to data released in March by The Japan Virtual and Encrypted Asset Exchange Association (JVCEA). That means 3,695 accounts may not have traded any digital assets.
