Gold price rallies to $2006.30 at around 11:32 on Tuesday morning, breaching the $2000 level for the first time after two weeks of hovering below, according to APMEX data.

The rally is underpinned in part by investors who are looking for a safe-haven asset amid economic uncertainty.

Mohamed A. El-Erian, the president-elect of Cambridge University, thinks the gold markets will continue to look bullish. He wrote on his twitter: “There will be greater cyclical/structural allocations to gold—both of which are price supportive”.
