President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced that testing of their national central bank digital currency  (CBDC) should finish in 2020, according to Cointelegraph Turkey

The Central Bank plans to release the national blockchain-based digital lira in accordance with the 2020 annual presidential program. The government plans to use this technology to develop a software platform for instant payment based on the digital lira.
