Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro appeared on the television station Venezuelan Television Corporation (VTV) with supposed Trezor representatives, holding a storage device allegedly developed by Trezor, however not everything was as it seemed.
Trezor sent a tweet on Thursday exposing the representatives as imposters. Trezor stated, “To clarify the situation, we have no official resellers in Venezuela (http://trezor.io/resellers/ ) as well as we were not aware about the technological fair. We’re investigating this issue.”
The company that appeared alongside Maduro has Facebook and Instagram accounts that even refer to Trezor’s official site, however Trezor denies any connection to the company. Many online believe that this company is an unlicensed reseller of Trezor.
