The U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee today released a report investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election. The report shows that the former CEO of Overstock and renowned crypto supporter Patrick Byrne was interested in plans of the jailed Russian spy Maria Butina.

“The Committee assesses that both Erickson and Butina viewed Byrne, at least initially, as a vector to yet another Republican presidential candidate, Senator Rand Paul”, the report states.

Byrne resigned from Overstock as CEO last year because of the notorious romance with Butina. The report also includes details of how Bitcoin became the connection between Byrne and Butina at a libertarian conference.
