Bitfinex, the cryptocurrency exchange, is planning to launch options and gold-backed stablecoin, among many other products.

Bitfinex and Tethers CTO, Paolo Ardoino, made an appearance on the Scoop and stated that Bitfinex is pondering launching options trading. Ardoino also claimed that the gold‑backed stablecoin, named Tether Gold is currently looking at launching in Q1 2020. The company is currently working with external market makers to ensure liquidity.
