The Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov warned his audience about what he believes to be the false promise of cryptocurrencies during a recent speech, as reported by local outlet Pravda

Chechnya is a federal subject of Russia where the digital assets are growing in popularity and the government has recently passed laws providing legal status to cryptocurrencies but prohibiting their use in payments.

Kadyrov went on to say that excess profit comes with big risk adding that people invest in cryptocurrencies expecting their value to grow quickly but that they aren't working hard to make a profit.

Despite Russia's recent crypto regulation, the nation's Central Bank still treats the digital assets with suspicion.
