Pavel Durov, Telegram’s founder and CEO, along with two other employees have been ordered by a judge to give testimony in the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) vs. Telegram case.

Durov’s deposition is slated to take place on either Jan. 7 or 8, 2020, in a location that is agreed upon by both parties. This testimony will take place a little over a month before Telegrams court date, to make a case for the legal status of their gram token, which the SEC considers an unregistered security.
