Bundesrat, the state-level representative body similar to the U.S. Senate, passed a bill on Nov. 29, that will allow German banks to offer sale and custody services for cryptocurrencies.

According to German new outlet Handelsblatt, this latest law is a direct enactment of the EU’s Fourth money laundering directive. This bill allows for greater clarification on the state of cryptocurrencies in Germany and gives banks the ability to offer cryptocurrency services.
