The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has requested proposals for a blockchain-based know-your-customer (KYC) platform.

On Nov. 29, the bank posted an open call on their website, The bank declared they were looking for a tech company that could build a “proof of concept” shared KYC system for the banking industry. The shared KYC system would allow for commercial banks and the central government to share and update customer data on a blockchain.
