Kelly Loeffler, the CEO of Bakkt, was officially appointed to the U.S. Senate by Georgia Governor Brian Kemp on Dec. 4.

Loeffler will fill the position of former Senator Johnny Isakson after he stepped down due to failing health. Loeffler will take office Jan. 1, 2020 and will have to run again on January 2021 despite Isakson’s term not ending till January 2023.
