Ethereum Classic Labs and the Ethereum Classic Core development team have partnered with OpenRelay and ChainSafe to work on the blockchain's recently released network security plan, according to an announcement.

OpenRelay is best known as the team behind infrastructure service Rivet. The company is working to develop practical simulations and models for proposed security features. Blockchain research and development firm ChainSafe is helping Ethereum Classic Labs with the conceptual review of security proposals.

The priority for Ethereum Classic Labs is increasing resistance to 51% attacks after falling victim to three attacks of that kind over recent months. The announcement highlighted that all proof-of-work blockchains are susceptible to 51% attacks.
