According to CNBC, California District Judge Laurel Beeler today filed a preliminary injunction, which made the US Department of Commerce’s WeChat ban temporarily suspended.

The ban includes restrictions on WeChat downloads and updates in the US App Stores and prevents US users from conducting transactions through the App.

The judge said the WeChat ban did not provide sufficient evidence that it is specifically designed to solve the US government’s national security concerns with respect to the app.

The U.S. Commerce Department and the White House did not immediately comment.
