Four ministries of China, including the National Development and Reform Commission, jointly issued Instructions on How to Expand Strategic Investment in Emerging Industries and to Generate New Growth Points and Growth Poles. The instructions stipulate:
1) To enhance the quality and efficiency of a new generation of information technologies. Enterprises shall promote the integrated innovation and application of technologies such as industrial internet, artificial intelligence (AI), internet of things, internet of vehicles, big data, cloud computing and blockchain;
2) To expedite the pilot trial of energy saving and environmental protection industries. The project’s goal is to establish new eco-environmental governance mechanisms in megacities, based on AI and blockchain;
3) To focus on the creation of application scenario of industrial clusters. Demonstration projects are expected to be built in applicable clusters to take the lead, covering areas like 5G, AI, internet of vehicles, big data, blockchain and industrial internet.
