A digital asset company recently made a call to clients to sell any of their Bitcoin SV holdings, a move which has drawn the ire of Bitcoin SV’s biggest supporter.

Calvin Ayre, the founder of crypto news portal CoinGeek.com, claimed BitGo, the California-based cryptocurrency company, of requesting $15 million to support Bitcoin SV wallets on their platform, to which Ayre declined and reportedly told Bitgo to “go f*** themselves.” Ayre also stated he would invest in competitors of BitGo to ensure the company would die.

Mike Belshe, the chief executive officer of BitGo, confirmed Ayre’s statement in a tweet but said that the company’s “biggest fear” was Ayre saying “yes” and that “To the contrary, it was a favor to offer to implement it at all, because there is certainly no business demand for BSV support. Team is happy to be working on more important things.”

BitGo SV announced it would discontinue Bitcoin SV wallet services on February 4, 2020.
