British politician Godfrey Bloom announced in a tweet on Thursday that he would be making his first Bitcoin purchase this week, adding that he already has plenty of gold and silver.
The tweet quickly took hold recieving 2,500 likes as the crypto community embraced the awknowledgement of Bitcoin as an asset in the same class as precious metals like gold or silver. Bloom commented on his tweet that he is looking for crypto leaders to interview to teach him about the space.
On Friday, he followed up his viral tweet stating that he would be researching Bitcoin further over the weekend and will work to educate others his age who are looking to diversify their portfolios about cryptocurrencies. Bloom is 70 years old.
