Police in Tangshan, a city in China’s northern coastal province of Hebei, have seized three privately installed high-power electricity transformers that were illegally directing stolen electricity to mining machines.

The electricity was being directed to 790 Bitcoin mining machines in an adjacent village. Police not only seized the transformers but the mining machines as well. Police claim the amount of electricity stolen was enough to power over 5,000 households per day.
