The Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF), France’s top financial regulator, has published a new set of rules for the licensing of digital asset service providers (DASPs) as well as guidelines for applying for the non-mandatory license and informing the AMF about internal cybersecurity practices.

The AMF released the rules on Dec. 26, and their new guidelines on Dec. 19. These new rules and guidelines will further expand on France’s PACTE law, one of the first crypto legislative packages to be passed in Europe.

To apply, each DASP must provide the AMF with a two-year business plan, the digital assets their firm will service, the areas they will operate in and the firm’s organizational chart among other things.
