Virgil Griffith, the Ethereum research scientist arrested last month for allegedly assisting North Korea in learning more about blockchain and cryptocurrencies, was denied bail.

According to a report from Inner City Press, the U.S. Attorney's Office denied bail because of text messages Griffith sent to his parents about renouncing his U.S. citizenship and setting up a money laundering business in North Korea.
