Forbes writer Steven Ehrlich argues that Bitcoin (BTC) could be a solution to problems that investors may currently be facing with the traditional 60/40 model. A 60/40 investment portfolio consists of 60% of investments in equities and 40% in debt instruments; however, due to today’s unusual financial climate, with debts and equities going up simultaneously and with the potential for both to drop simultaneously in the future, Ehrlich argues that this kind of portfolio will not be as lucrative and that investment in BTC should replace it.

Ehrlich advocates for BTC based on its strong network fundamentals; high interest rates on both centralized and decentralized platforms; almost historically low amount of BTC currently in custodial wallets; and generally high performance over the past decade. He also finds BTC’s recent drop below $10,000 impressive, given that recent events, such as a crypto hack and the indictment of multiple derivatives exchange executives, could have produced a much more substantial drop but did not.
