Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced that the national cryptocurrency Petro will now be usable for oil sales, according to the TASS report.

According to Maduro the government of Venezuela has been successfully introducing its cryptocurrency into Venezuelan’s daily lives. Oil joins iron, steel, aluminum and part of the gold that is used to produce Petro in being available for purchase with Petros. With the country facing record hyperinflation Maduro has been pushing for the adoption of Petro.
