Leading crypto exchange Coinbase announced on Thursday, October 15 that the company will sponsor at least two Bitcoin developers who contribute to either Bitcoin Core or closely related projects.

The exchange is beginning its search for developers today and they will be funded as a part of Coinbase's Crypto Community Fund. The fund aims to grow the cryptoeconomy and work towards an open financial system.

Submitted proposals will be shortlisted by current Bitcoin Core developers with Coinbase making the final decision. The aim is to support a year-long developer grant.
