Almost 2,000 Robinhood accounts were hacked in a recent string of attacks that stole customer funds, as reported by Bloomberg.
The company conducted an internal review which revealed that the attacks were more widespread than previously known, an inside source told Bloomberg. Robinhood had stated at the time of the attacks last week that a limited number of accounts had been compromised.

The hackers gained access to the accounts by breaching personal email accounts outside of Robinhood. The attack unleashed a slew of complaints from customers who had no way to reach out to the brokerage because it does not have a customer service phone number. 

The company sent a push to clients earlier this week urging them to authorize two-factor authentication and plans to continue making security suggestions.
