The Swiss Federal Department of Finance has begun consultations today for a blanket ordinance regarding the use of blockchain and distributed ledger technologies (DLT), according to a Department press release this morning. The initiation of consultations comes after the Swiss Parliament's adoption of Federal Act on the Adaptation of Federal Law to Developments in Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) on September 25 of this year.

The planned blanket ordinance will allow the Federal Act's amendments to federal law to be enforced at a blanket level, furthering Switzerland's progress in becoming a place for blockchain and DLT technologies to thrive.
