Bitcoin exchange Bitstamp announced this morning that it has hired Julian Sawyer as its new CEO. Sawyer brings to the role a background in both crypto and mainstream finance, having worked as both a managing director of crypto exchange Gemini and co-founding and serving as Chief Operating Officer of Starling Bank. Bitstamp, which has recently expanded its reach vastly, anticipates even more growth under Sawyer's leadership.
Former CEO and founder Nejc Kodric maintains a role on Bitstamp's Board of Directors as Sawyer takes over his position.
