The class-action lawsuit filed against Tether and Bitfinex for allegedly manipulating the bitcoin market has been withdrawn by the plaintiffs and re-filed with a new plaintiff in a different jurisdiction.

plaintiffs Eric Young and Adam Kurtz opted for voluntary dismissal of their case against Tether and Bitfinex's parent firm iFinex, according to a document filed Jan. 7 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington. The next day it was refiled in the Southern District of New York with the addition of plaintiff David Crystal.

“Plaintiffs refiled the case to efficiently vindicate the rights of Bitcoin traders and Bitcoin futures traders,” said Karen Lerner of Kirby McInerney LLP, who is one of the attorneys involved in the case.
